Tutorial #7

Hmm...Ok heres a VERY NICE tutorial.  Its short and sweet with an awesome effect: Cheap Chrome.  No plugins required.

Just follow the steps in order :).

1.)  Open a New Image 400 x 250 pixels, Background: White, Foreground: White. 16 million colors.

2.)  Pick a Nice Fat Font, the thicker the better. Thin fonts dont look very good.  In this case I used Fujiyama Bold, 90pt.   It should just look like an outline.

3.)  Now go to Selections then Modify then Feather.  Make the Feather 4pts (you may have to experiment with this to make it look right so save this as a selection under Selection. Load it to start where you left off.).  Sometimes up to 8pts can be used depending on the font.  The selection field has gotton thicker around your original text.

4.) Now comes the secret.  Apply Hot Wax Coating 7 times.  Thats right SEVEN times!  Go to Image then Other then Hot Wax Coating.  Seven Times. :)   This number will vary, usually between as little as 2 to 10 times.  Make sure its not to dark.

5.) We need to brighten it up a little so go to Image then Adjust then Brightness/Contrast.  Set Brightness to 10 and Contrast to 0.  Now cut your selection out with Edit Cut.   Fill your background with black using the Filling Tool.  Now paste your image as a new selection with Edit Paste.

6.)  Drop a white shadow with Image then Effects then Drop Shadow.  Play the settings till you find one you like.

7.)  Its still a little blurry so go to Image then Sharpen then Sharpen More.   Thats IT!
